The moment that changed everything
One bright autumn morning, I was driving to work, feeling completely empty and overwhelmed. As I approached a roundabout, a dark thought crossed my mind “What if I just kept going and a lorry hit me?” It would all be over and the constant pressure, guilt and exhaustion would finally stop.
I felt like a failure as a teacher and a mum, trapped in a cycle of late nights, missed family moments and never feeling good enough.
Not long after, a snowboarding accident left me with a broken back.
It forced me to step away from the classroom and I finally saw how so many teachers were drowning under impossible expectations, just like I'd been.
When the curriculum changed to computing, desperate messages from teachers flooded my inbox and I realised I could help.
